Historic moments, big plays highlight 2024 Flint-area sports photos
GENESEE COUNTY, MI — There are hundreds of games that take place throughout Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, Bay and Saginaw counties each year, and 2024 included a lot of special ones.
Tom Dutkowski led the Flint Powers Catholic baseball team to win a Division 2 MHSAA state title.
The Saginaw Spirit won the Memorial Cup. The final basketball game was played between Saginaw High School and Arthur Hill high schools.
After 32 years of chasing a state championship, coach Tom Alward was able to hoist the trophy at Ford Field for Goodrich football’s first-ever title.
We were there on the sideline for the Detroit Lions playoff victory of Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
We were there when Flint native Ardreal Holmes Jr. retained his USBA Junior Middleweight title at Dort Financial Center.
And, we were there when the Detroit Tigers found great success into October on a playoff run.
Whether it was football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, baseball, softball, soccer games or swim meets, thousands of images were taken.
