Hittin’ the town at a new Hancock County hot spot that includes indoor and outdoor entertainment

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A new hot spot in Hancock County serves up food, drinks and plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment.

FlightHouse first opened its doors earlier this year. The space had been home to a nursery and garden center for decades but after months of renovation work, FlightHouse came to life with indoor and outdoor elements.

“We wanted to bring something special to Findlay and have people be entertained,” said Peyton Hoover, the general manager. “We have a space that a variety of people can come enjoy.”

That happens on a number of levels, starting with the restaurant and bar. Hoover says craft beer flights are a popular feature, and beer made right here in the Buckeye State is always on tap.

“We have 24 beers on tap here,” said Hoover. “Some are local and others are national. We always try to get a few new varieties and get new local ones in.”

There are also plenty of options when it comes to wine, from flights to bottles. Hoover says the specialty drinks may just be her favorite.

“We have our set cocktails that we keep on the menu year-round but we also have five to seven new cocktails every season,” said Hoover. “Right now we have a few pumpkin and caramel ones.”

There are also a number of outdoor entertainment options at FlightHouse.

“We have two pickle ball courts, three corn hole sets and one bocce ball area,” said Hoover. “We do have space heaters and a fireplace to light for the chillier days.”

FlightHouse is truly a family affair. Hoover’s dad Shawn is a co-owner of the business. Her siblings pitch in sometimes, too. Shawn says he loves seeing his kids be part of the family business.

“All of my kids have been working here throughout the summer, helping out in the kitchen or on the patio,” said Shawn. “It’s overwhelming when you see it running so well on a Saturday night. You see all the kids working and you know you’ve done something right.”

The outdoor oasis is winding down for the season, but the plan is to have it open for the rest of the month. Shawn says there’s a long-term goal to expanding it in 2026.

“We really want to build a larger outdoor venue with another bar people can sit around and a larger stage for music,” said Shawn. “That’s our phase 2 goal.”

Shawn adds that there are plenty of ways for children to enjoy the outside space, too.

“We see kids here all the time with their family playing bocce ball, corn hole or playing pickle ball with their family,” said Shawn.

FlightHouse is open Tuesday through Saturday. You can also host events or parties at the space.
