Hoboken Planet Fitness Gives Estimate For When They’ll Reopen

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken location of the budget-friendly Planet Fitness chain closed as of this past Monday, July 29, for renovations.

A sign in the window of the Washington Street location encouraged patrons to try their Weehawken or Jersey City locations while the two-story location is “upgraded with new equipment, amenities and locker rooms.”

The chain is known for low membership rates starting at $15 per month. It also has massage chairs and special events.

The Weehawken location is at 4100 Park Ave., a walk of about 2.5 miles from the Hoboken location (see the route here). The Jersey City location is farther, on the west side of that city, 321 Route 440.

When Will It Reopen?

Patch reached out last week to a representative of the company.

On Tuesday, she responded, saying, “We can confirm the club in Hoboken, NJ is currently scheduled to re-open in November. Please note that this is an estimated timeframe for our opening. There is a chance we could open earlier, or the opening may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as construction delays or other.”
