HOMETOWN ENTERTAINMENT: Charles Esten returns to Smith Mountain Lake, a tour stop for his debut album, “Love Ain’t Pretty”

Smith Mountain Lake, Va. (WDBJ) – Singer and actor Charles Esten is a familiar face on your TV screen.

These days, it‘s his music that’s taking center stage, with the release of his debut album, “Love Ain’t Pretty.”

“It’s been received so well. And to get to go out on the road and play at all these places has been an absolute joy,” says Esten.

Many fans also know the singer and actor from his memorable roles on TV’s “Nashville” and “Outer Banks.”

Esten’s been racking up miles with several of his “Nashville” cast mates on their current reunion tour.

“And it’s really kind of hard to explain what that means to me that I get to put those boots back on, and step behind that guitar and be that man for just a little bit more on the microphone,” says Esten.

Saturday night will bring Esten back to The Coves Amphitheater at Smith Mountain Lake, a special stop on what’s been a whirlwind touring schedule.

“But I promise you, that doesn’t feel like work to me. That feels like a reward where I get to go be with these people that I love so much and play in that gorgeous venue. So, some of the things I do, although it seems like I’m busy, someone of them are healing and wonderful for my soul, and the Coves at Smith Mountain Lake is one of those,” says Esten.

With also having family roots in Southwest Virginia, it’s an area that keeps Esten coming back, much to the delight of his loyal fans.

“So, I hope that everybody that’s come out before, let’s have this little reunion. And if you haven’t seen it yet, get in the car, come on out down by the lake, you won’t have a more beautiful night,” says Esten.
