HOMETOWN ENTERTAINMENT: Comedian Brad Williams to bring the laughs to the Berglund Center tonight
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) –Comedian Brad Williams was born with a form of dwarfism.
What he lacks in stature, he makes up for in BIG laughs.
“I had a very easy path to be comedian, a very easy path to write jokes. Here’s how I write jokes. Step one, be a dwarf. Step two, wait,” says Williams.
Williams is known for his observational humor. He says funny things just happen in front of him.
”A guy yelled from across the street at me and said, ‘Hey, I haven’t seen you since prison’. Now I have never been to prison, so obviously, I did not know him. But now I just have more questions. This guy had a dwarf friend in prison. What did the dwarf do? That’s the kind of stuff that I wake up and live my life and stuff happens to me,” he says.
Williams says credits much of his success to the pandemic, a time when all of us needed to laugh.
“Over the pandemic, people just started passing around my videos on TikTok, Instagram, other forms of social media and really that kind of blew it up,” says Williams.
Williams says he’s excited to bring his comedy show to the Berglund Center, and he has advice for folks heading to the show.
“It is a large theatre, and I am a very tiny man, so you got to make sure you got seats up front or else you’ll just see this little white dot going around the stage,” says Williams.
You can catch Brad Williams tonight at 7 in the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre in Roanoke. Click here to purchase tickets.
