HOMETOWN ENTERTAINMENT: Comedian David Cross to bring the laughs to the Jefferson Center

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Comedian David Cross is a performer, writer, producer and an all- around busy guy.

You might know him from his podcast, “Senses Working Overtime with David Cross,” or from a slew of movies like “Kung Fu Panda” and TV shows like “Arrested Development.”

“It was very special. I was really very fortunate, lucky and privileged to be able to be a part of that and it was a really fun character to do,” says Cross.

When we asked Cross if any of his characters resemble himself, he mentioned his role on “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret”.

“To do things or improvise things and my wife would be like ‘This is what I have to live with’, you know. Because she’s in it, as well,” says Cross.

Cross is married to actress Amber Tamblyn.

They often work together, and were recently in the romantic comedy, “You Hurt My Feelings.”

“That was a lot of improvisation, too, and that was really fun. We were just hanging out and we shot down the street from where we live in Brooklyn,” says Cross.

These days, he’s racking up a lot of miles with his new touring show “David Cross: The End Of The Beginning Of The End.”

“I like traveling across America. I have done it all my life and it’s fun and interesting to get out there and bring the show to folks. One of his stops is the Jefferson Center in Roanoke on November 21st,” says Cross.

Here’s what he says you can expect.

“Laughter, tears, incontinence, all kinds of – there will be a lot of- it’s a roller coaster ride. Emotionally and physically,” says Cross.

And if you’ve had enough politics recently, Cross says you won’t hear much of that at this show.

“There’s more of a personal story that’s like a good chunk of the beginning that’s still really fun to tell. It’s all true, all of it really happened,” says Cross.

Cross will perform at the Jefferson Center Thursday, November 21 at 8 pm. Click here to purchase tickets.
