Hotel Whiskey, Uncle Joe’s both now open for business in Pascagoula

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) – If you’re looking for a neat weekend getaway, Hotel Whiskey might be the spot for you.

“I have joked that when my three sons find out they can live above a pizza and wings place, they will change their address immediately,” says Paige Roberts, President and CEO of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

It’s true — the first floor is dedicated to none other than Uncle Joe’s Pizza and Wings restaurant.

The family-owned company has a few other locations on the coast. Stacia Diamond, the general manager of Uncle Joe’s, says the development has already provided jobs in the community.

“We have mostly kids. A few adults, but it’s mostly kids, mom-and-pop operation. We’re really proud of our kids, most of them are in school, or pursuing some sort of education and we’re a stepping stone for them,” says Stacia Diamond.

Property manager Alli Silva says guests can simply come down the elevator for a meal, and then explore all that downtown Pascagoula has to offer just through the front doors.

“I think it’s amazing. That’s how our other hotel in Pass Christian is. We have our own restaurant underneath, and it is great for the people that are staying,” Alli Silva says. “You don’t have to go anywhere, you have food right there, drinks right there, and especially being on Main Street you have entertainment right there. You don’t have to get in your car and go anywhere.”

The second and third floors are made up of 16 suites, offering both one and two beds.

“What I love about both Hotel Whiskey and Uncle Joe’s pizza and wings, is the care that was given to details,” Roberts says.

From light fixtures to bedding, Silva says the chic interior makes for a more casual stay.

“When you’re staying with us, you don’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel. You feel like you’re staying in a really cute, designed friend’s house or something.”

“Pascagoula is the flagship city of the county, as it’s county seat, and this is the flagship district. So, this right here will serve as a flagship attraction,” Roberts says.

The hotel has no front desk and everything from check-in to check out is done remotely for convenience.

Managers of Whiskey properties say they are already planning for another development on the Coast.
