How Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Sets Up Season 2

Published

on

Summary

  • Chaos Theory Season 2 focuses on Brooklynn’s survival and her involvement in a smuggling conspiracy with sinister implications.
  • The Nublar Six face dangers from rogue agents, the ‘Whistle Woman,’ and the Broker as they try to unravel mysteries and survive.
  • The season sets up intense conflicts, love triangles, and the need to rescue lost dinosaurs, with a big emphasis on unity against powerful foes.

When Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous wrapped, it felt like a fitting end for the Nublar Six. These teenagers barely survived being stranded there for months on end. The finale coincided with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s ending where dinosaurs were running wild and co-existing with humanity.

However, Netflix had other plans for the teens when they got back home. The streaming service is focusing on this group years later in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Here, the Nublar Six dive deep into a smuggling conspiracy. Season 1 has them trying to solve Brooklynn’s death, while figuring out who’s hunting them. While they survive in Chaos Theory, big threads are laid down to set up Season 2.

10 Coolest Dinosaur Scenes in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

Before Jurassic World: Chaos Theory hits Netflix, Jurassic fans should revisit these coolest dinosaur scenes from Camp Cretaceous.

Chaos Theory Season 1 confirms Brooklynn is alive. She was attacked by an allosaurus as part of a diabolical scheme by the Whistle Woman and the Broker at the start of the series. Apparently, these villains are leading the black market ring where they use rogue agents from the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW) to garner dinosaurs. They then sell them all across the world and make a huge profit. All season long, it looked like Brooklynn was eaten by the dinosaur.

The Chaos Theory ending shows Brooklynn with her wall of mystery after a sinister DPW boss, Cabrera, dies. Season 2 will have to explore what Brooklyn’s endgame is. She is working with Darius’ former DPW head, Ronnie, so the show is angling to show division in the DPW. Some DPW workers genuinely want to help expose the corruption, which opens the doors to a nastier game of elitism, capitalism, exploitation and murder. The Nublar teenagers might not trust Brooklynn, howevr.

Faking her death endangered them all as they tried to find her killer. Brooklynn will thus have to reveal why she remained dead. To top it off, Brooklynn has to come clean on what she was doing with Kenji’s shady father, Daniel. He was buying dinosaurs with Brooklynn to rebuild the Kon empire. Kenji and Co. will want to know what the true plan was, especially as Daniel ran devious experiments and crossed ethical lines with the Isla Nublar beasts.

Brooklynn will have to confirm if she was trying to protect these beasts, or if she sacrificed some to fake being a patron of the Broker. She did go down some eerie rabbit holes and conspiracy theories on the Dark Jurassic website. She ignored Kenji while they were together, which caused him to dump her. Clearly, she was losing part of her soul and humanity in following her media dream of breaking news. One can only hope Brooklynn has a good excuse in Season 2 for hiding secrets from her friends.

10 Ways Jurassic Park Fans Are Missing Out by Skipping Camp Cretaceous

With Jurassic World: Chaos Theory about to debut on Netflix, Jurassic Park fans shouldn’t skip out on its predecessor, Camp Cretaceous.

Another integral part of Kenji and Brooklynn’s fracture in Chaos Theory Season 1 is the fact she stayed with Darius after the break-up. She didn’t reciprocate Darius’ feelings, however, which is why he didn’t show up the night she got attacked investigating a dinosaur drop-off. Once Brooklynn is back in play, she and Darius have to iron out their issues.

No matter what, Darius didn’t do the right thing by selfishly leaving her on her own on a dangerous mission he helped build. Kenji and Darius do seem to be cool about both loving Brooklynn. But with her coming back, old flames could be rekindled, as well as that rivalry that simmered since the Camp Cretaceous episodes. However, rather than be jealous or hurt, Kenji may not want to be part of Brooklynn’s manipulation and lies anymore. Either way, this trifecta promises a lot of drama.

Brooklynn has always put herself first, while Kenji usually focused on his ego and Darius functioned as the voice of reason. In this case, however, it’s hard to see them not being hurt by the other, as mature as they might think they are. Under these circumstances, fans can expect bickering, conflict and a most human arc to resolve in this Jurassic World story.

10 Coolest Dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

With hybrids, dinosaurs, and other cloned creations, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous had some of the coolest creatures in the Jurassic Park series.

At the core of this narrative is the safety of the dinosaurs. Season 1 ends with the Nublar Five (as Brooklynn is still off-grid) sneaking onto a boat to figure out where the dinosaurs are being shipped. It teases action to come on the ship. Some of the cargo is sure to go loose, hunting hero and villain alike. This season had brutal deaths, so it might be ramped up with creatures on board who hate being cooped up, or abused. There might even be other people controlling dinosaurs, like the Whistle Woman.

Camp Cretaceous used other digital mind-control tools, too. Apart from the chaos on the boat, once the teenagers get to the “colony,” there will be thugs and goons to avoid there as well. It’s uncertain if it will be Malta, which could bring in the evil mastermind, Soyona Santos, as a prequel to Dominion. She has an atrociraptor pack she controls. The franchise could also explore different territories to add unpredictability and a sense of freshness. Places like Africa can touch on the safari vibe, while some European spots might have that aristocratic, snobbish park energy.

What’s certain is that the “Camp Fam” needs to get these dinosaurs home. It’s possible that Owen and Claire’s eco-preservation team from the movies might factor in to assist. The scope has been blown wide open. It’s a lot more dangerous, so the Nublar posse requires help. Mateo already flipped on the DPW to aid, so hopefully, more government officials can realize what’s going on and send backup after the DPW lost credibility.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Clip Reveals Intense Dinosaur Attack

Exclusive: CBR’s sneak peek at Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory reveals a harrowing dinosaur attack scene.

A massive part of Chaos Theory will be uncovering the truth behind the Whistle Woman. She has a very odd disposition: wide-eyed and a love of watching dinosaurs eating people. The teenagers saw her psychopathic behavior up close when her raptors ate Cabrera and Daniel. She’s the anti-Owen in every sense of the word. But she does love her pack. Fans are eager to know her history, how she and her raptors came to be, and why she’s this loyal to the Broker. They might have other dinosaurs under their thumb.

The Whistle Woman is one of Jurassic Park’s most intriguing characters and a reason why more Jurassic World sequels need to happen: to evolve the entire property. Once the Whistle Woman’s backstory is linked to the history of the Broker, it will definitely make this Netflix cartoon feel much more complete, cohesive and firm in continuity. Chaos Theory Season 2 can also see Kenji become blinded by rage and revenge. Brooklynn’s betrayal and his father being mauled in front of his eyes won’t be easy to digest.

With Sammy still suffering PTSD from their past dinosaur ordeals, Ben, Darius and Yaz will have to work to ensure their peers are mentally stable for the war to come. Once Brooklynn is thrown into the mix, all problems can be ironed out via honest dialogue. It’s an all-out war with the wealthy elite, who have an abundance of resources. If the Whistle Woman and Broker are to be stopped, the Nublar Six must unite.

All 10 episodes of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory are now streaming on Netflix.
