How Tech Influences and Aids Gambling in the Big Games – WDEF

CHATTANOOGA, TN –

With some Big Games upcoming in the new year for both collegiate and professional levels, gambling is a popular way for some people to enjoy their sports and make a profit.  Today I invited my friend, Gambling Aficionado and Sports Anchor Brian Armstong in to tell us how Tech is influencing the games and gambling.

“Well, let’s start with. If you have no idea of anything of sports betting. The idea of vig. Now that is the where you bet and the privilege to make that bet. And that’s where the casino makes a ton of their money. So let’s say you bet $110 to win 100. That extra $10 goes to the casino. The technology is creating a lot of different elements in that both positive for us, negatively for us, and also where it’s better and harder to win for sports betting,” says Armstrong. “You can win money. You can lose money. And you can use the technology through all the apps.”

Armstrong believes that eventually you’ll be able to bet on each play as easy as with your remote on any streaming device.  The technology isn’t there yet, but he does believe that day is coming sooner rather than later.

“Not quite one day, not quite right now. Getting close to it for big games,” says Armstrong.

If you’re watching all the big games, this year, there’s plenty of technology to help you bet on every play. Maybe what color socks the quarterback’s wearing? Who knows.
