How to buy tickets for Pittsburgh vs. Toledo in GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit
The Pittsburgh Panthers and Toledo Rockets are the first participants in the newly-named GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit.
The bowl was re-named from the Quick Lane Bowl, which had been the name for the last 10 years, to the GameAbove Sports Bowl earlier this year. The 2024 iteration will take place on its normal date of Dec. 26, the day after Christmas, at 2 p.m. at Ford Field.
Pitt finished 10th in the ACC with a 7-5 record. The Panthers started the season 7-0 but closed by losing five straight games. Toledo went 7-5, good for sixth place in the MAC, highlighted by a 24-point win over Mississippi State in the non-conference schedule.
The GameAbove Bowl started in 2014, originally as the Quick Lane Bowl, to replace The Little Caesars Bowl, which ended in 2013. This is Toledo’s fifth appearance in a Detroit bowl game (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2010) and Pitt’s second appearance (2013). Last year, Minnesota beat Bowling Green 30-24.
