HPD: 90-year-old World War II veteran killed at assisted living facility

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a carjacking turned deadly in Southwest Houston.

Per HPD, this happened at 12:48 p.m. Saturday at an assisted living facility on Westbrae Parkway near Rainer Drive.

The victim was reportedly shot, and the suspect ran them over with their own car before taking off in the victim’s vehicle. First responders performed CPR, but the victim, who was a World War II veteran, died on the way to the hospital.

Police said the suspect dumped the car four miles away on Dunlap Street.

The suspect has not been located, and police say they are, “armed and dangerous.” Police do not believe the victim and suspect knew each other.
