Hub City business deemed a nuisance by Hattiesburg City Council

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) – The Hattiesburg City Council has deemed a Hub City business a nuisance.

Zo’s Club on Eastside Avenue in Hattiesburg was the scene of a shooting incident that left one man dead on Aug. 3.

After this incident, at the meeting held on Aug. 6, the City Council passed a unanimous vote that deemed the business a nuisance.

According to City Attorney Randy Pope, the business has had incidents such as this for the past five years.

“This is on-again, off-again, but it’s a serious problem,” said Pope. “The council really had to do what they did.”

The city’s next step will be to go to the Chancery Court to obtain a temporary restraining order.
