Humphreys Co. investigating suspicious package at Pilot Travel Center

WAVERLY, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat at the Pilot Travel Center on Highway 13 off Interstate 40 on Wednesday morning.

“We are currently investigating a bomb threat at the Pilot Travel Center,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post. “We have no indication this is anything more than a hoax, but we are currently investigating and trying to determine if any suspicious packages need further investigation.”

The sheriff’s office has asked for help from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to assist the investigation.

“We hope to have this resolved soon,” the sheriff’s office said.
