I Am Putting My Gambling Reputation On The Line With This One College Football Bet
So I started teasing this bet the other day, and I understand that I hyped it up larger than any bet I’ve ever made in my life….but it’s also larger than any bet I’ve ever made in my life. Here is the Origin Story. I recently was given clearance to begin making content about gambling, and I started searching for picks that had solid reasoning behind them. I don’t love just giving out picks every day, but obviously there’s a market for that. Instead, I’ve waited until I saw a trend or statistic that I loved and made a video. I hit the Home Run Derby prop by 45 home runs, and while I’m well aware that what goes up must always come down, I am 3-0 in sending videos to the Stool Gambling account to be posted. Factor in the undefeated Lucky Parking Spot games this season and I’m on a little bit of a heater.
In search of my next bet, I stumbled upon one that I simply cannot believe the line. I’m well aware that everyone is high on USF this year, with some people picking them to represent the G5 in the playoff. I’ve been a Byrum Brown / Alex Golesh believer before any of you, but this isn’t a dick measuring contest. Anyways, I was searching DK Sportsbook the other day and was looking at their odds to win the conference, odds to make the playoff, etc…..and then their win total popped up. 7? SEVEN????
Here’s the video of my Legacy Bet, but if you can’t wait, I’ll break it down below.
– The bet is USF football win total over 7
– The line is 7 on DraftKings Sportsbook, while it is 7.5 on other books. This is huge because while it takes 8 to win everywhere, even if I’m completely off with what I think they’ll do this year, 7 wins is still a push.
– I will concede that Bama and Miami will be losses for the sake of a realistic argument, although I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest to see USF beat Miami in Tampa this year.
– USF has 7 gimmes on the schedule
– Bethune Cookman is not only an FCS, they’re a TERRIBLE FCS
– Southern Missouri is predicted to finish 13th in the Sun Belt
– UAB, Navy, Tulsa, and Charlotte are projected to finish 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th in the conference….and USF plays all of them
– They also play Rice, who they handled last year. Rice is predicted 8th in the conference, and they haven’t had a winning season in a decade.
^ That right there is 7 wins. W
– So, USF has 7 gimmes, 2 losses, and 3 games remaining….and we’ve already pushed.
– The 3 remaining games are FAU (almost called this a gimme), Memphis, and Tulane. I think we win all 3. Liam Blutman thinks we win all 3. Brandon Walker thinks we win 2 of the 3. And all we need is 1 of them?
I just don’t get why this line is 7. The way I see it, 7 wins is the floor for this team. A 7.5 line would be more risky, and an 8.5 line would be more realistic. But if they’re offering 7, I’m taking it….
