I canceled Walmart+ over ‘substitution’ issue – the service ‘sucks these days’

A SHOPPER has abandoned their Walmart+ membership amid several complaints about the service.

The frustrated former subscriber called out the retail giant for supposedly not having any items they wanted in stock for delivery orders and a lack of staff available in-store.

Walmart+ is available to customers for an annual fee of $98, and those who sign up can benefit from many perks and benefits.

Various deals and discounts, free shipping and delivery, a complimentary Paramount+ subscription, and the Scan & Go feature are just some of the offerings for members.

While there are seemingly plenty of upsides to Walmart+, a customer who recently got their membership claimed they’d mostly experienced negative results when trying to use it.

“I have Walmart plus and every time I order stuff 90% isn’t available and has to be substituted,” the shopper, Sam, fumed in a post to X.

“I’m sorry but you guys really suck these days.”

HELP WANTED

Sam continued to note they rarely go in-store to Walmart for their groceries, but when they do, they supposedly find self-checkout kiosks available to use with little employee assistance.

“And if I dare go into a store there are never any employees and it’s all self-checkout,” the customer fumed.

They added their Walmart+ membership was officially “cancelled” due to their grievances.

Sam also posted a reply to their own post, which included a screenshot of notifications they’d received from Walmart about their substituted items during an order.

“Pathetic for a billion dollar retailer,” they blasted.

Beware of Hidden Fees and Scams at Walmart

Walmart quickly responded to the complaints, requesting more information to resolve the situation.

“We’d like to know all the details, Sam!” the company exclaimed.

It’s unclear if the former Walmart+ member ever reached out for further assistance.

Sam isn’t the only shopper irritated with Walmart+.

  1. Head to the Walmart website.
  2. Select ‘Account’ and then ‘Walmart+’.
  3. Click ‘Start free 30-day trial’.
  4. Enter your information.
  5. Enjoy the trial and benefits.

Remember to cancel before the 30 days are up, or pay $12.95 per month (which you can cancel at any time) or $98 for the annual plan if you want to keep it.

A customer recently claimed they were automatically enrolled for the service simply for using a self-checkout kiosk during a recent trip to their local Walmart.

The shopper, Jenny Johnson, said Walmart allegedly charged her $12.95 on her receipt for the subscription when she never wanted it in the first place.

Johnson said she immediately contacted Walmart’s customer service, who allegedly informed her that the automatic enrollment could happen through using a self-checkout kiosk.

The U.S. Sun previously contacted Walmart for comment on Johnson’s claims but did not hear back.

Certain self-checkout kiosks have been blocked off specifically for Walmart+ customers since spring.

Some customers without the service have been so upset about the policy change that they’ve abandoned carts full of groceries and walked out of the store.

Others fumed they’d be heading to competitors like Target instead to get their essentials.
