I discovered trendy, affordable fashion through Armoire’s rental service

Sometimes, refreshing your wardrobe can be a challenge when money is tight. That’s where Armoire comes in — a clothing rental service featuring all the designers you’ve been eyeing, from Vince Camuto to Badgley Mischka, Cynthia Rowley, and more.

It was designed for women by women who understand our fashion needs by introducing us to new designers and styles, keeping our closet in constant rotation so we have new items each time we browse.

A rental service is the perfect way to revamp your style or experiment with new looks without committing to a purchase. Enjoy high-quality clothing without breaking the bank. And the best part? When you’re ready for a change, return the items and explore something new.

So obviously, I had to test it out for myself to see how it could spice up my personal style.

Armoire

Pros:

  • For those on the go, signing up and shopping your curated closet is a breeze
  • The stylists are on-call and ready to help you not only pick items but also style them and create personalized closets
  • Size inclusive, with offerings for extended sizing for many items
  • Returning is easy with prepaid labels and a reusable shipping envelope

Cons:

  • If items are unavailable, a stylist will select a replacement for you, so you won’t be able to choose the look yourself

Plans start as low as $89.00 monthly and go up to $249.00 for an unlimited plan. Just think of all the impulsive purchases you’ve tried that ended up at Goodwill. In the long run, this service can save you money. If you’re just looking to spice up what you already own, we suggest The Wardrobe Pick-Me-Up or The Wardrobe Enhancer, but if you want to revamp your entire look and refresh whenever you want, go for The Wardrobe Replacer plan.

Choose from three different plans to find the best match for you. I selected The Wardrobe Replacer plan because I love myself an unlimited swap situation. I have a lot of events each week, so I want to keep things fresh.

The Wardrobe Pick-Me-Up

  • Choose four items
  • Rent four items at a time
  • Swap every 30 days

The Wardrobe Enhancer

  • $99 first month ($119/month after)
  • Rent seven items at a time
  • Swap every 30 days

The Wardrobe Replacer

  • $149 first month ($249/month after)
  • Rent six items at a time
  • Unlimited Swaps

To kick things off, I started with a quick five-minute style quiz so the brand could gauge my favorite looks. The brand assured me I could wear them as long as I like and swap them out when ready for something new.

After I made my selection, I found the perfect denim jumpsuit, along with an edgy skirt that’ll turn heads twice, a pair of wide-leg cuffed pants, and a gingham preppy shirt for good measure.

When I checked out, the brand notified me that my four selections were valued at $861, and I didn’t bat an eyelash — except if I were buying, I totally would have. So, once again, this is a great way to try new styles without the high overhead.

I didn’t get a confirmation email until the items shipped, so check your inbox for the shipping confirmation. Give it about 12 to 24 hours before reaching out to the brand to confirm if your order went through.

If you’re particular about your style, note that I received two replacement items for out-of-stock pieces chosen by a stylist. Instead, I would have preferred an option to go select something new instead of relying upon someone else’s style. The only pro is that it’ll push you outside your style comfort zone, and maybe you’ll try something new and fall in love.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t thrilled with the two replacements: a floral button-down top instead of the jumpsuit and a button-down shirt in linen that wasn’t quite my style…nor will it become my new look, but it was worth a try.

I did fall in love with the wide-leg cuff pants and discovered a new brand I couldn’t live without — the fabric moved with my body like a second skin. I also found a midi skirt that added a fresh edge to my style. Overall, I was pleased with the service and enjoyed taking them for a spin around New York.

With all memberships, enjoy peace of mind with coverage for minor damage, complimentary cleaning, and full access to its extensive inventory.
