As I write this, it’s just days after completely jarring my neck and being unable to move it for two days. Upon seeing an osteopath, I was advised that my neck pain was a consequence of tight shoulders, and that I should try a massage gun.
I’m lucky enough to own the Theragun PRO Plus, and the osteopath was right – using even the lightest setting, my shoulders instantly relaxed, and I could visibly see the blood had rushed to the area (which studies show is essential for recovery).
The next morning, my neck had near enough healed. Of course, that’s not the only time my Theragun has come in handy. I use it everywhere – my calves, hamstrings, quads – and it works to relieve DOMS and accelerate recovery every time. What’s more, I’ve tried many massage guns in my time, and this is one of the quietest on the market. Top tip: try not to tense as you use the gun – it can feel sore at first, but the more you tense, the less effective it will be.
