In Huntington, Live Nation acquires The Paramount | Long Island Business News
Live Nation, a live entertainment company, has acquired The Paramount, the entertainment venue on New York Avenue in Huntington. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Paramount has hosted a range of music and comedy acts including Billy Joel, Pitbull, UB40, Kevin James, Sarah Silverman and more.
The Paramount’s founders – Brian Doyle, Dominick Catoggio, Jim Condron and Stephen Ubertini – opened the theater in 2011, having transformed the former Inter-Media Arts Center, a nonprofit theater.
“We are thrilled that The Paramount will continue its great legacy with Live Nation now overseeing the venue,” the Paramount’s partners said in a statement to The Long Islander, which first reported the story. “Having been our booking partner for 13 years, Live Nation became the natural company to hand the torch to and bring the venue into its future.”
The Paramount is integral to arts and entertainment in both Huntington and on Long Island. The arts are an economic driver to the region, and contributed $330 million to the Long Island economy, according to a 2023 study by the Long Island Arts Alliance.
In addition to performances, the venue is home to The Founder’s Room, a member’s only speakeasy; Ella’s, an eatery offering curated plates, pizzas and cocktails; and Spotlight, a space that features a bar, live music, art and food. The venue also hosts private events.
Back in 2019, LIBN reported that The Paramount holds 1,665. The former IMAC theater had seated 600.
Live Nation will continue to employ The Paramount’s team members.
Lisbeth Barron and her firm Barron International Group, a firm focused on music and entertainment strategic advisory and capital-raising, with offices in New York, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to The Paramount.
