Indianapolis Colts will travel third-fewest miles in 2024 NFL season | Sporting News

The Indianapolis Colts have nine road games in 2024 but won’t be traveling as much as the rest of the league.

They have 11,497 miles of travel ahead of them, which is the third-fewest in the NFL. In comparison to the 2023 season, that is 4,906 fewer miles they traveled during the first year under Shane Steichen, according to Bill Speros.

A big reason why Indianapolis is traveling less this year despite having the extra road game is because of the Germany trip they took to face the New England Patriots in 2023.

The shortest trip for the Colts will be to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans and the longest trip is when they go out to the Rocky Mountains to face the Denver Broncos.

Here is how the miles breakdown that Indianapolis will be on the road:

  • Tennessee Titans (Nashville): 501 miles
  • Green Bay Packers: 602 miles
  • Minnesota Vikings (Minneapolis): 1,021 miles
  • New York Giants (East Rutherford, NJ): 1,282 miles
  • New York Jets (East Rutherford, NJ): 1,282 miles
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: 1,401 miles
  • New England Patriots (Foxborough, MA): 1,586 miles
  • Houston Texans: 1,742 miles
  • Denver Broncos: 1,999 miles

Not having to travel out to the West Coast certainly helps the Colts along with not having an international game on the schedule. This should benefit the players to have the proper rest throughout the season.
