iPhone 16 Battery Capacities Revealed: The iPhone 16 Pro Gains Nearly 10 Percent While Pro Max Dominates With The Largest Cell!
The entire iPhone 16 lineup comes with bigger batteries, and we now have the numbers of the cells that are bigger compared to last year’s iPhone 15 lineup. Apple managed to fit a bigger battery on all iPhone 16 models, which, combined with the new efficient processor and thermal dynamics, is able to outperform all past models. Apple does not share battery capacity on stage for its new iPhone models, but it does state that the devices boast a better battery than previous models.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro battery capacities revealed in new leak
As mentioned, Apple only states on stage that the new iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro models boast the best battery life on any iPhone, sharing details in hours rather than specific numbers. If you were wondering what the battery capacity is on your new iPhone 16 model, it is worth noting that all models have received a significant bump. The numbers were shared in new regulatory information from Brazilian agency Anatel (via Blog do iPhone). You can check the battery capacity of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models below in a comparative style with previous models.
- The iPhone 16 comes with a 3,561 mAh battery, which is 6.3 percent bigger than the iPhone 15.
- The iPhone 16 Plus features a 4,674 mAh battery, which is 6.6 percent bigger than the iPhone 15 Plus.
- The iPhone 16 Pro houses a 3,582 mAh battery, which is 9.4 percent bigger than the iPhone 15 Pro.
- The iPhone 16 Pro Max includes a 4,685 mAh battery, which is 6 percent bigger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Needless to say, the iPhone 16 Pro has received the biggest increase, almost 10 percent bigger battery capacity than last year. It is partially because of the bugger chassis as well as the device is now taller and wonder thanks to the company’s decision to increase the display size. On the flip side, the iPhone 16 Pro Max features the biggest battery on any iPhone, but it remains to be seen how it compares to the battery life of the iPhone 16 Plus.
The comparison is quite interesting as Apple itself has promoted the battery life of the iPhone 15 Plus in the past. The reason is simple: the iPhone 16 Plus does not come with an Always-On display, it has a 60Hz refresh rate compared to 120Hz on the ‘Pro’ models, and much more. Hence, the comparison between the two big models would be quite interesting.
Other than the bigger battery cells, Apple is now also offering up to 25W of fast MagSafe charging for the iPhone 16 models, but you would need a 30W charger to get the maximum speeds. We will wait for the real world tests as well, so be sure to stick around to get a more clear idea of which iPhone 16 model delivers the best battery life.
