iPhone 17 Pro’s General Design Language Will Remain The Same As Current Models, Eliminating Prior Rumors Of A Horizontal Camera Array
Apple is planning to make some major changes in terms of design with the iPhone 17 lineup and while the new ‘Air’ model is all the hype these days, the company also plans to offer the ‘Pro’ models with their due changes. Apple’s lack of innovation and design is costing it sales in China and potentially in other parts of the world. Users expect the company to introduce some major changes to the iPhone 17 Pro models, which could allow it to boost sales.
iPhone 17 Pro will feature the same triangular camera design as the current models
It was previously reported that Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro’s camera module could resemble that of the Google Pixel 9, which is a horizontal array of sensors. The company was also expected to make use of a part-glass, part-aluminum design on the back, but it remains to be seen if the company will go with this approach. This is because a leaker has suggested that the Cupertino giant could move ahead with the part-glass design, but the camera module will feature the same “rectangular” shape.
In a Weibo post, leaked Instant Digital claims that the iPhone 17 Pro will indeed feature a new design from the back, but the horizontal camera module will not be part of the plan. What this means is that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature glass on the back alongside a similar-looking camera on the top. The reason why Apple is moving to the glass design on the back is to retain the wireless charging capability of the handset, as an all-metal build would create issues or make Apple opt for a different solution.
The camera modular will still be “triangular” rather than the “horizontal bar spread on the internet now.” The latest leak is a new aspect that contradicts prior rumors and reports coming out of the supply chain in China. Apple is aiming to use the same format for the camera as the current models, which came with the release of the iPhone 11. The company brought forward the triangular camera design after it decided to introduce a new camera to the mix, and unless the company opts for the same approach next year, we can expect the module to stay the same.
The new design will potentially allow Apple to boost its sales in regions like China, where competition is high and users have a lot of choices. The dual-finish design will also allow Apple to stand out from the crowd, but take the news with a grain of salt as there are no confirmations regarding the new look. We will get more information on the finish as we move closer to the launch.
