iPhone 17 Slim Concept Based On Leaks Shows Everything We Should Be Looking Forward To, Including The Part-Aluminum, Part-Glass Design
Apple is reportedly working on an ultra-thin iPhone, which is expected to see daylight next year with the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup. The iPhone 17 Air will feature a refreshed design, a radical improvement over the current variants. The company appears to have taken a back seat when it comes to making changes to the design in recent years, as it has been constantly sticking to minor tweaks. A new concept has emerged, which shows the design of the iPhone 17 Air based on recent leaks and reports.
iPhone 17 Air concept shows what users should be looking forward to later this year
Posted by Technizo Concept on YouTube, the iPhone 17 Air concept video shows a complete redesign of the device, as it will be replacing the ‘Plus’ model in the lineup. The device is also expected to be the slimmest iPhone Apple has manufactured, also taking into account the decade-old iPhone 6, which measured just 6.9mm. While the company struggles with the battery substrate, we expect the device to feature thickness below the 6.5mm mark.
The iPhone 17 Air concept takes design cues from recent leaks and reports, which means if the news has any heft to it, we might see a pretty close version of the handset later this year. As can be seen in the video embedded below, the iPhone 17 Air could feature a horizontally-arranged camera array, similar to the Google Pixel 9 series. While there are conflicting reports regarding the change, we believe it would make sense for Apple to allow the switch. The concept shows a triple-lens camera on the back, which is quite odd as the company is reported to stick to a single lens or a dual-lens system.
Besides the camera system, we can see that the device features a part aluminum, part-glass design, as reported last year. The part-glass design is more of a compulsory choice for Apple to retain wireless charging capabilities, but it remains to be seen if the company plans to add more features. On the front, the device features a 6.65-inch OLED display with ProMotion support. It can also be seen that the Dynamic Island is smaller on the front compared to the iPhone 16 lineup.
The highlight of the iPhone 17 Air concept is the ultra-thin design with a USB-C port on the bottom. While it is too early to draw final conclusions, the iPhone 17 Air will be the company’s most hyped device, appealing to the masses just because of its looks.
