Iron Mountain High School athletics kick off fall sports with fundraiser
IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) – Iron Mountain High School kicked off its fall sports season tonight.
The school’s athletic booster club held the annual Meet the Mountaineers. Fall sport athletes and coaches introduced themselves to the community.
The booster club provided free food and sold Mountaineer gear to raise money.
Iron Mountain High School Boosters President Russell Kassin says the club helps students focus on their academics.
“Being a student first, athlete second, we help with the athletics,” Kassin said. “Anywhere from their jerseys to equipment, last year we were able to help with the new scoreboard in the basketball gym.”
After the event, athletes went door-to-door selling Mountaineer gear to residents.
