Arizona Cardinals kicker Matt Prater has not played since Week 4. After making two extra points in a 42-14 loss to the Washington Commanders, he had some knee soreness leading up to Week 5 and missed the next two games before being placed on injured reserve on October 15.
He has missed the requisite four games to return.
Matt Prater injury update
Prater is still ineligible to play and the Cardinals are on their bye week so he won’t be on the field in Week 11.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Nov. 8 and Prater “is itching get back” on the field and that he expects him to play this season.
How long will Matt Prater be out?
Prater can be activated from injured reserve to play in Week 12 but has not had his 21-day practice window opened.
The next day to watch for Prater’s return is on Monday when the Cardinals return to practice after the bye to see whether he is designated to return.
Cardinals kicker depth chart
While Matt Prater has been out, Chad Ryland has filled in well.
He has made all 13 of his extra points and 11-of-12 field goals. His one miss was a block in his first game with the Cardinals in Week 5. He has made three game-winning kicks and was the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.
