Jade Thirlwall writing with Raye for debut solo album

Jade Thirlwall has enlisted Raye to help with her debut solo album.

The former Little Mix star has reportedly been meeting up with the ‘Escapism’ hitmaker to pen tracks for her long-awaited new album and is “absolutely thrilled” to have the record-breaking singer – who made history when she won six of the seven prizes she was up for at last month’s BRIT Awards – on board to help.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Jade really respects Raye’s work and they’ve known each other for years through the music circuit, so she is absolutely thrilled Raye has agreed to lend her songwriting skills to her debut album.

“Jade has been pouring her heart and soul into the record and wants to get it just right.”

Raye isn’t the only person Jade has been working with as Jax Jones recently revealed they hit the studio together in 2022 and he’s hopeful the “cool music” they made together will see the light of day eventually.

He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s a good song. If she wants to use it, it’s there.

“Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams released Doctor, which was recorded years ago, so you never really know what will happen.

“But I know I have written some cool music with Jade, and we are still cool and we vibe.”

Last year, Jade was said to have penned songs with Bastille’s Dan Smith.

The pair are believed to have formed a songwriting partnership after attending a writers retreat together, and they came up with a number of tracks which have been offered out to other artists.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Jade and Dan have met each other a few times over the years when they’ve been at the same events.

“But they weren’t really mates until they ended up on this retreat together with a load of other songwriters and they teamed up to come up with ideas.

“They hit it off and produced some strong tracks. Some of them have already been offered to other artists, so it’s only a matter of time before they get snapped up.”
