Jake Paul and Conor McGregor are two of the biggest names in combat sports today, so it’s only logical for fight fans to wonder what it would take to get them into the ring together.
That possibility has already been floated by an ESPN boxing reporter, who last week cited unnamed sources suggesting a Paul-McGregor bout could take place next summer in India.
After his much-publicized victory over Mike Tyson last month, Paul called out McGregor on social media, proposing they meet in an MMA bout.
Meanwhile, McGregor has said he is delaying his return to the Octagon until after he takes part in an exhibition boxing match against Paul’s brother Logan Paul.
When does Jake Paul fight Conor McGregor?
There is no set agreement or a date set yet for a potential fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor.
ESPN reporter Salvador Rodriguez, citing unnamed sources, posted Dec. 23 on X that a bout is “on the table” for July, August or September 2025 in India.
What has Jake Paul said about fighting Conor McGregor?
Even before the ESPN report surfaced, Paul responded to apparent overtures from McGregor’s camp about a bout.
In a Dec. 17 post on X, Paul said McGregor and his team “have been desperately trying to get MVP (Bellator star Michael “Venom” Page) to negotiate a fight between us.”
But Paul said the only way he’d be willing to discuss the possibility would be if Dana White and the UFC are part of the negotiations.
Jake Paul’s last fight
Paul, 27, won a unanimous decision last month over 58-year-old Mike Tyson in Arlington, Texas.
The win improved Paul’s career boxing record to 11-1.
Conor McGregor’s last fight
McGregor, 36, has not had a UFC bout since suffering a broken leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. He has won only one MMA fight in eight years and has an 0-1 record as a boxer, losing to Floyd Mayweather by TKO in 2017.
