Jake’s Gambling Pit: Week 5

UNC vs Duke -3

Manny Diaz has been impressive leading Duke to a 3-0 start. The Tar Heels are trying to pick themselves up after giving up 70 points to James Madison. Look for North Carolina to play a more fundamentally sound game, clean up turnovers, and play better defense. Duke’s offense hasn’t impressed me much, and this the game they come back down to earth.

Eastern Michigan at Kent State +15

Kent State is a bad football team. It’s never great to bet solely on the transitive property but they lost to St. Francis, a team EMU beat 38-0. After giving up over 700 yards of offense to Penn State they are also on their third-string Quarterback. Eagles roll.

Baylor -3.5

Baylor is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Colorado and BYU has a big win over Kansas State at home. This smells like a perfect “get right vs hangover” matchup. Bears win at home the week after BYU enters the top 25.
