Jay Leno’s Bruised Face, Eyepatch Lead to ‘Gambling Shark…

Jay Leno shocked fans when he recently revealed his heavily bruised and swollen face, which he says is a result of falling down a hill. People joked that something more scandalous like gambling debts may have played a role.

When Leno popped out of the Comedy for Koby event in Beverly Hills on Monday, he was in bad shape. He sported an eye patch, black eye, bandaged wrist, and a bruised and swollen face, telling reporters that he had taken a nasty fall down a 60-foot hill while on his way to a restaurant near his hotel in Pittsburgh.

“I said, ‘Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep. It’s about 60-70 feet. Let me see if I can go down the hill,'” the former Tonight Show host told TMZ. “I fell down. Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, and knocked me in the eye.”

Three hours after the incident, the 74-year-old performed a standup routine at a comedy event. He’s been out and about since then, but given the severity of his injuries, people online joked that Leno was involved in something much more “strange and sinister.”

“Them damn loan shark injuries lmaoo,” O’Shea Jackson Jr. tweeted.

This isn’t Leno’s first major accident, either. He previously suffered third-degree burns to his face from a fire in his garage and broke several bones in a motorcycle collision.

“Yea. Jay Leno getting extorted for some shit … or gambling problems,” another user wrote. “This his 3rd time being fucked up bad. Da fuck u walking to a show over a mile away, staying at the Hampton inn for ? CUT THE SHIT AND GO TO THE POLICE JAY LENO.”

Someone else added, “Everything about this story—and the two other major injuries Leno had in recent years—suggests that his explanation is false and something very strange and sinister is going on.”

Explaining his string of unfortunate accidents to TMZ, Leno said, “The great thing about this age is that you don’t learn by your mistakes—you just keep doing the same stupid things.”
