Jeannie Mai accuses rapper Jeezy of domestic abuse; latter responds

In a new filing in their ongoing divorce case, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, born Jeannie Camtu Mai, has accused her estranged husband and rapper Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, of domestic violence and child abuse. Hours later, Jeezy shared a statement on his official Instagram handle to refute the claims.

Jeannie accused Jeezy of “explosive outbursts, excessive drinking and domestic violence” in court filings obtained by People. She also claimed that she was held against her will and suffered a subconjunctival haemorrhage after Jeezy struck her with “a closed fist across her cheekbone and eye”.

“He hurled insults such as ‘You w—!’ and ‘I can’t wait to divorce you when we get back,’” the court documents stated.

Another incident occurred at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco, according to the complaint. Jeannie says she was choked “from behind as she was ascending the stairs” and pushed down the stairs by her then-husband Jeezy. The hotel staff allegedly intervened and gave protection to the TV host.

In a third incident mentioned in the filings, Jeezy allegedly lost his calm during the UNCF 39th Atlanta Mayor’s Masked Ball. The 45-year-old claimed that the rapper grabbed her “by the neckline of her dress, resulting in the dress being torn and multiple 2-3 inch scratches across her right breast”.

Jeannie also expressed concern for her 2-year-old daughter Monaco’s safety. She claims that she found her toddler near the rapper’s AK-47 rifle in October 2023.

In response to Jeannie’s claims, Jeezy said in a statement, “The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”
