Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially put their mansion up for sale: How much are they asking for?
After trying to sell it quietly, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have gone public with the sale of their home.
This week, the couple put their Beverly Hills home up for sale for $68 million. The two originally purchased the home in June 2023 for $60 million.
According to Us Weekly, the 38,000-square-foot home has 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. It also has a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a 12-car garage and parking available for up to 80 vehicles.
Why did Ben Affleck and JLo break up?
After the couple purchased the home, it was renovated to “the highest level of quality in the last four months,” the media outlet reports.
JLo and the Batman star were looking for a house to live in together for almost 2 years, examining more than 80 properties before choosing the mansion. In the meantime, the singer is still living in the mansion, but the actor moved into a rental house in Brentwood, in addition to moving his belongings out of the shared house.
Although they were recently married, their story dates back to the 2000s. The couple met while filming the movie Gigli. They first got engaged in November 2002, but the couple called off their wedding four days before the event. They announced their separation in January 2004.
In the Amazon Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the two revealed why they broke up back then. “Ben and I broke up three days before our wedding,” J.Lo recalls. “We had a big wedding planned and three days before, we just fell apart under the pressure,” she adds.
For his part, Affleck revealed that the reason behind the split was “the enormous amount of scrutiny surrounding [my] private life.”
In May 2021, Affleck and Lopez reunited, after the singer ended her engagement to former baseball player Alex Rodriguez. In April 2022, Lopez announced that she was officially engaged for a second time to the actor. They married on Saturday, July 16 of that same year in a wedding in Las Vegas, followed by a 3-day ceremony in August of the same year.
Last month, however, rumours of a split began to surface after they had not been spotted together in over a month. Now, they have decided to sell their humble abode.
