Jennifer Lopez Slips Into a Sheer Lilac Minidress, Then a Fabulous Fur

Despite her recent display of apres-ski style, Jennifer Lopez doesn’t dress for the seasons.

Instead, it’s about bending the weather to her will: The star slipped into a black string bikini during her time in Aspen, Colorado, where she paired the two-piece swimsuit with a pair of brown furry snow boots and a black cowboy hat. No matter the temperature, you can always count on Lopez to bring the heat, and she continued that theme as she touched down in Palm Springs, California for Variety’s 10 Directors To Watch & Creative Impact Awards.

With the help of styling duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the Atlas actor shed her winter layers on Saturday, trading them out in favor of a sheer lavender gown that screamed spring. Her lilac ensemble included a ‘60s-style minidress complete with a halter-neck, while a sheer overlay helped her lean into the retro drama. The billowing sleeves of the gauzy layer cascaded down the sides of Lopez’s legs, bringing attention to a pair of pointed clear heels from Gianvito Rossi (a style favored, and perhaps pioneered, by Kim Kardashian).

Elsewhere, Lopez continued the vintage feel of her outfit with a sleek half-up, half-down ‘do. She complemented the look with shimmery purple eyeshadow, a coral blush, and a glossy nude lip. For an extra dose of sparkle, she topped off her ensemble with a pair of jeweled Mateo earrings.

Later in the night, Lopez was honored with the Legend & Groundbreaker Award by her Maid in Manhattan co-star Ralph Fiennes. She was also named one of Variety’s 10 Directors to Watch and Creative Impact Awards honorees for her role in Unstoppable, in which she plays wrestling champion Anthony Robles’s mother, Judy. The actor has earned high praise (even from ex Ben Affleck) for her most recent film role.

Naturally, a wardrobe change was required after her win. As Lopez stepped out later in the evening, she embraced her luxurious personality in a look that embodied old Hollywood glamour. Underneath a massive white fur coat, she wore a silky cream gown with a plunging neckline. A large white rosette embellished her gown, and she rounded out the fabulous look with a quilted Chanel handbag and shimmering diamond earrings. Extra who?
