The busiest month of the year is officially upon us, so the last thing I want to do is think about my outfit before running out the door. Lucky for me, Jennifer Lopez just put together the outfit blueprint I’ll be living by this winter, utilizing a variation of the coat style Taylor Swift and Angelina Jolie have recently rocked and creating an everyday ’fit that feels casual but doesn’t look it.

The singer and actress, 55, somehow made holiday shopping look effortless when she stepped out in Beverly Hills wearing a classic outfit that was simple but carefully curated. From the artfully tucked shirt with a lazily buttoned neckline to the flare jeans to the heavyweight gray coat, every piece played an integral role in this everyday ensemble that can make anyone look put-together in a flash.

Most people have a trench coat like the ones Brooke Shields and Gwyneth Paltrow have been spotted wearing, but Lopez’s seems to be made of a thicker fabric that’s better suited to winter weather. Since I likely can’t afford her coat, I utilized my shopping writer skills to find alternative styles in a variety of silhouettes and fabrics to get her look at a palatable price — but I didn’t stop there.

It has a set of hidden buttons that mimic her single-breasted coat and a removable belt that makes a fashion statement.

One reviewer called it the “perfect all-weather coat” and appreciated its rain-resistant fabric, while another praised its roomy design, making it easier to layer sweaters underneath. In my opinion, no wardrobe is complete without a simple button-down shirt. My only request: It has to be oversized. Judging by the way Lopez’s is loosely tucked into the waistband of her jeans, I can assume that her top looks a bit like this one — slightly baggy and totally fashionable. This top has a drop-shoulder silhouette that complements its forgiving shape, creating a timeless outfit with any pair of jeans, dress pants, or skirts, and layering perfectly under a jacket.

Though we’ve known Lopez to be a fan of wide-leg jeans over the past few years, she slipped into a flared style for this most recent outing. Levi’s jeans not only get rave reviews from Beyoncé, but they were some of the best jeans we tested this year, making these flares some of the best money can buy (to us, that is).

“[I] can’t live without my Levi’s,” one shopper wrote. They explained that these jeans are usually expensive, so they try to buy them on sale — and lucky for you, they’re going for less than usual in the wake of Cyber Monday. “But even if they’re not, [they’re] still worth every penny,” they concluded.
