According to the ADP study, one in 127 jobs in the U.S. pays more than $500,000 a year. However, in San Francisco, this ratio is higher: that’s one in 48 jobs. This is due to the technological industry that dominates the region.

“The Bay Area’s considerable advantage likely reflects not only the dominance of technology in its economy and workforce, but also its position as a hub for top industry talent and the corporate giants that rely most on its expertise,” the report explains.

A far second to San Francisco is Austin, Texas, where the frequency is 1 in 96, or almost half that of the California city.
