Johnson City women-owned businesses celebrate moms and entrepreneurship

Several women owned businesses in downtown Johnson City are ready to celebrate moms on their special day.

Owning a business and being a mother are two of the hardest jobs you can have and if you wanna do it both together it is a lot but definitely worth it, said Kindle.

Carrie Kindle is part of blues brews coffee- and she is expecting a baby boy in July.

Kindle tells News 5’s Yannia Nordelo that growing up and seeing her parents work hard inspired her.

I loved being able to watch my parents own a business and be a part of that i think that it instills a lot of entrepreneurial assets in your child, said Kindle

Booths ranged from doula care and lactation specialist, to free food samples and build your own bouquet.

Chelsey Taylor has four kids she says that being able to give mothers a helping hand affects everyone else in the community.

We support their moms and they’re able to have help taking care of their babies it just makes such a huge impact on the family’s lives, individual family lives, which has that ripple effect, said Taylor.

One of the main goals is also to highlight a mother’s special qualities.

Show your kids that you can be a mom and also be a baker and you can be a mom and also be a business owner and you can do these things and still be a parent and be very present and involved, said Kindle.

Everyone agreed they are grateful for their mothers’ love and support.

We take so much and draw so much from your mother, I think there are aspects of my personality that now as an adult I’m like wow I get that from my mom and I didn’t realize that, said Kindle.

We really appreciate when people acknowledge how hard it is to be a mom, said Taylor.

They raised us they taught us values and they brought us into this world and as my mom always says they can take us out of this world, said Owner of Stella Sourdough Tiffiny Hurley.
