Judgment Day implodes as GUNTHER wins the world heavyweight championship

GUNTHER won the King of the Ring tournament and that meant he was going to SummerSlam tonight (Sat., Aug. 3, 2024) at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, to challenge Damian Priest for the world heavyweight championship. Considering his run as Intercontinental champion and the fact that Triple H clearly adores everything about him and his old school style, it seemed clear as day where this was headed.

Sure enough.

It was just a surprise how we got there.

GUNTHER is incapable of having a bad match, it seems, and that rang true here. He dished out quite a bit of punishment but he took just as much. At one point he started bleeding from the chest.

Priest battled hard, and after he saw GUNTHER send Finn Balor, his Judgment Day teammate get tossed aside, he recovered enough to hit his finish. When he went for the pinfall, the swerve came.

Balor put GUNTHER’s leg on the bottom rope to save him from defeat.

When Priest went to go after Balor, GUNTHER put him in a sleeper. Balor watched it happen with a smirk. Priest battled back briefly thanks to how upset he was at Finn, but GUNTHER finished him off with a powerbomb and another sleeper.

Judgment Day has imploded.
