Feld Entertainment, Inc. today announced Juliette Feld Grossman has been named the third CEO in the company’s 57-year history. Stephen Yaros, senior vice president of global media and Supercross, has been named president of Feld Entertainment. Kenneth Feld will remain chair of the board of directors.

The Florida Behavioral Health Association (FBHA) has announced its 2024-2025 leadership, electing Melissa Larkin-Skinner as the chair of the Florida Council for Behavioral Healthcare, the association’s advocacy arm. Larkin-Skinner is the immediate past chair of FBHA and recently transitioned to a new role as president of Community Assisted and Supported Living in Sarasota.

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH) has again been named one of America’s Best Employers for Women, ranking No. 7 in the nation. Forbes, in collaboration with Statista, identified the 600 Best Employers for Women through an extensive independent survey of more than 150,000 women working for companies with at least 1,000 employees across a range of industries in the U.S.

U.S. News & World Report also recognized Sarasota Memorial Hospital among the nation’s top hospitals for 24 medical specialties, procedures and conditions. Its performance once again places SMH on the America’s 50 Best Hospitals list and makes it the highest-ranked hospital in south Florida. And the American Heart Association (AHA) awarded SMH its Stroke Gold Plus quality award, the highest designation hospitals can achieve for demonstrating sustained, superior performance.

The board of trustees of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has elected three new members: Ali Bahaj, Hosana Fieber and Richard Sandor. Their term began on July 1.

Tidewell Foundation has announced that Rebecca Blitz has joined the foundation as a senior philanthropy advisor, while Lisa Adams will serve as its new events manager.

Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) has announced the new appointments within its board of directors for fiscal year 2024-2025. They are Patrick Duggan, board chair; Shelley Walters-Walker, first vice chair; Captain Deb Kiner, second vice chair; Joan Castellani, secretary; and Andrea Hunt; treasurer. Tonya Wallace has joined DeSoto County-based nonprofit organization Links to Success in the new role of First 1,000 Days family navigator. Her role will help further expand the services of the First 1,000 Days Suncoast initiative, which is housed within Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, to meet the needs of the DeSoto County community.

Williams Parker has announced that Michael J. Wilson has been re-elected to a second term as firm president. Additionally, Fletcher Rush has been promoted to partner, effective July 1, 2024.

Sarasota County Schools has announced that it was awarded an overall “A” grade this year by the Florida Department of Education. 

Multiple departments within Sarasota County have achieved accreditation and reaccreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA). Capital projects, public utilities, public works and solid waste were reaccredited following their initial accreditation in 2020. Newly accredited departments this year include Breeze Transit; communications; general services; parks, recreation and natural resources; and planning and development services.

CareerEdge Funders Collaborative, the workforce initiative of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, has announced the selection of grantees for its  upskilling work grant funding. They are Adams Group; Air Products; Bartelt; Badger Bob’s Services; Easterseals Southwest Florida; Jeld-Wen; Sarasota Memorial Hospital; Sun Hydraulics; and Veteran Air Home Services. 

Ian Black Real Estate has hired J.D. “Butch” Miller as sales associate, industrial real estate services. 

Making An Impact, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to community navigation to basic needs services, has announced Deborah Croce‘s appointment as a new board member at large. 

All Star Children’s Foundation has added Amy Farrington to its board of directors. 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties will honor Jack Cox, owner and president of Halfacre Construction Company, and Dr. Harriet Moore, director of strategic engagement at Sarasota County Schools, at the 18th Intertape Polymer Group Leadership Breakfast on Sept. 6 for their commitment to empowering youth to reach their full potential. 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties has also announced the appointment of Jeffrey Phillips as its new vice president of finance.

Hershorin Schiff Community Day School has announced its 2024-2025 board of trustees. The president of the board is Rachel Saltzberg, vice president is Barbara Rodkin, treasurer is Melissa Walsh, and secretary/president-elect is Colleen Blumenthal. New to the board this year is Michael Ritter. Ongoing trustees are Lori Dorman, Benjamin Edelman, Nikhil Joshi, Dr. Wendy Katz, Robert Landman, Rabbi Michael Shefrin and Rick Siegel. Richard Hershorin and the late Mitch Blumenthal are lifetime members.

Theatre Odyssey has announced its new executive board members. Two Sarasota-Manatee high school students have been selected as Bank of America Student Leaders: Madison Faust and Yves-Shella Daelle Feron.

The Florida Public Relations Association’s Central West Coast Chapter has announced that Kaylea Schule and Jennifer Hemmerdinger have completed LeadershipFPRA’s class VIII, and Laura Ansel, Jennifer Linzy and Jodel Velarde have been accepted into class IX. The statewide program meets for five full-day sessions to meet and learn accomplished public relations professionals throughout the state. 

Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of Stephanie Wardein to the Florida Greenways and Trails Council.  Wardein, of Babcock Ranch, is the president and CEO of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida.
