From left are: Commander Delphine Metcalf-Foster, Sr. Vice Cmdr. Nestor Aliga, Jr. Vice Cmdr. Alan King, Adjutant Alvin Bruce, Treasurer Lecil Treat and Sgt-at-Arms Dennis Barbarin. Vallejo City Councilmember Rozzana Verder-Aliga was recently awarded the 2024 U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson Legislator’s Legacy Award for her 29 years of elected service during the Napa Solano Central Labor Council’s annual recognition dinner held in Fairfield. At the annual Firefighters Appreciation Day on June 29 at the Vallejo waterfront, Buck Kamphausen, owner of USA World Classics at 1525 Sonoma Blvd., proudly showed off a dozen of his restored fire engines including the 1902 LaFrance Steamer, 1922 Pierce Arrow Hose Car, and the amphibious DUKW fireboat. The Ukulele Lovers Of Vallejo are all smiles while entertaining Florence Douglas Center patrons on the first and third Mondays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at 333 Amador St. in Vallejo.
