Nearly 10,000 people attended the 38th annual event on June 1 at the Mare Island Coal Sheds. Dennis Clemente, a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, former Vallejo Police Officer and an active leader of several local and state civic and veterans organizations, was honored by his family and fellow Veterans at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on June 7. Jeff Jewell, www.CaLegion.org Sergeant-at-Arms (left), and John Aldridge, California American Legion Commander, were all smiles during the successful Veterans & Families Summit at Three Oaks Community Center on June 7. Hosted by Vacaville’s The American Legion Rago Christopher Post 165, representatives from www.VA.gov, www.CalVet.ca.gov, www.Solano.edu, www.e5therapy.org, www.vacavets.org and others assisted many attendees with their Veterans benefits. First Christian Church of Vallejo is celebrating their 125th year of ministry in Vallejo. This past Thanksgiving the church shared an annual Thanksgiving lunch with the unhoused community. With the help of Vallejo Together they were able to give the gift of food, fresh clean looks, and a space for needed love and fellowship.
