Kate Middleton Could Travel Abroad Next Year
Kate Middleton is back in the spotlight at Remembrance events this weekend as she makes a gradual return to work following her cancer diagnosis. And Prince William has indicated that it is looking likely we will see more of her next year.
“Hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up,” William was quoted as saying in an interview with print media at the end of his visit to South Africa. As things stand, the only upcoming event Kensington Palace has tentatively committed the Princess to is her carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December. However, William’s words suggest that, if her recovery continues as hoped, then she will soon be back to more engagements and trips.
William and Kate’s last joint overseas trip was to Jordan in June 2023 for the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein to Rajwa Al Saif. Their last major joint trip was to the U.S. in November 2022 for the third Earthshot Prize.
William’s interview with media who traveled with him to South Africa for this year’s Earthshot Awards has made multiple headlines. Last week, reports revealed that he had described the past year as “brutal” and probably “the hardest year in my life.”In this latest tranche of comments from him, which appear to have been held back by the media for the Sunday newspapers, he also apparently said that he was trying to do things differently for his generation, describing this as “maybe a smaller R in the royal.”
Despite the fact that the interview appears to have been wide-ranging, there were no comments from the Prince in reaction to his finances coming under significant recent scrutiny in a Channel 4 documentary about the Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster.
