KCKPS host job fair to attract more teachers & support staff for upcoming year

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools are looking for more teachers and support staff for the next upcoming school year. On Thursday, June 6, KCKPS will host a Career and Job Fair to attract what the best and the brightest.

KCKPS wants to hire for certified positions, including teachers at all levels, para-professionals, ESL (English as a Second Language) aides, and more.

New teachers with minimal experience can receive up to $50,000 in salary. Other incentives will also be offered for “hard-to-fill” areas such as math, science, English, and Spanish.

There will be an opportunity for those who attend to speak directly with department administrators as well as the KCKPS Human Resource team; who will also be available to help with the online application process and will interview applicants on-site.

“We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that values collaboration, creativity, and excellence. We look forward to meeting with potential candidates and sharing more about the exciting opportunities ahead,” said Assistant Director of Recruitment and Substitute Staffing Cynthia Fulks.

Additionally, the district says those who wish to explore tuition assistance or grants to become an elementary, secondary, or special education teacher, are welcome to attend as well.

KCKPS is the largest school district in Wyandotte County and the fifth-largest in Kansas, serving over 21,000 students at almost 50 school sites.

The Career and Job Fair will take place from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., at Central Office, located at 2010 N. 59th St., in Kansas City, Kansas.
