KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Need somewhere to take dad for Father’s Day? Or maybe just something to fill your time with this weekend? Knoxville Now has you covered!

Laugh Alive Comedy // Ale Rae’s Gastropub // June 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Ale Rae’s Gastropub will be hosting its weekly comedy show, featuring local artists, traveling acts and fresh faces each week. The show, put on this week by Amber Autry, is free to attend, and Ale Rae’s full food menu will be available.

Seating begins at 7 p.m.

Old Gods of Appalachia // Bijou Theatre // June 15 at 8 p.m.

Fan of ghost stories and tall tales? Explore much of the Great Smoky Mountains? Old Gods of Appalachia may be for you!

Described as a horror fiction podcast set in an alternate Appalachia, listeners can expect stories from a world that feels similar to our own, but isn’t quite the same. The hosts, Steve Shell and Cam Collins, will be coming to the Bijou Theatre for a live show that’s set to include staged storytelling similar to an old-time radio play and musical performances.

Tickets go for $40 to $60.

Yoga and Ciders // Barrelhouse by Gypsy Circus Cider // June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Maybe not exactly a “hoppy” happening, but you get the idea! Barrelhouse is putting on yoga with Lyric Lantz and beginner-friendly Vinyasa Flow. You’ll have to bring your own mat and it costs $10, but you get a free cider!

Schitt’s Creek Trivia & Publicly Private Pint Night // Hi-Wire Brewing Taproom // June 14 at 7 p.m.

Schitt’s Creek fans, this is where you’ll want to be. You can test your knowledge about the Rose family’s wild adventures in the town of Schitt’s Creek and win gift cards while doing it!

Trivia is free and starts at 7 p.m. Additionally, Hi-Wire is donating $1 per Lager, Hi-Pitch, Lo-Putch and Bed of Nails Brown Ale to Publicly Private all day. Publicly Private is a nonprofit that aims to create safe spaces and services for members of the LGBTQIA+ communities.

Crafty Vendor Market // Crafty Bastard West // June 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Crafty Bastard’s West Knoxville location is opening up its patio to local vendors for a few hours Saturday afternoon. It’s a good chance to shop local and pick up a drink while you’re at it.

Fireflies Viewing Night // Seven Islands State Birding Park // June 15 from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Miss your chance to see the fireflies in Elkmont? Worry not, you can still see a display at Seven Islands State Birding Park!

For $10, you and the family can stop by to view the firefly displays from the park’s Bobwhite ADA Trail. Park staff will also be around to answer questions and put on a slideshow presentation explaining the nitty gritty details of the firefly display. Also, the park is planning on hosting kids activities starting at 8:30 p.m. until it gets dark.

It’s also an opportunity to see the park after-hours! Guests are being asked to bring sturdy shoes, blankets and chairs.

Fantastic Mr. Fox // Knoxville Children’s Theatre // June 14 at 7 p.m., June 15 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., June 16 at 3 p.m.

The Knoxville Children’s Theatre is putting on a production of one of Roald Dahl’s most-loved books, following the story of a crafty fox who steals food from three farmers!

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for kids.

Daddy’s Day Out at Hi-Wire Brewing // Hi-Wire Brewing // June 15 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Need somewhere to take dad for Father’s Day? Try Hi-Wire Brewing for Wells Station BBQ, bourbon flights, and more!

Hi-Wire will be hosting the event until 6 p.m., but from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., event-goers can expect vendors like Whoa Doggie Hot Sauces, Pouncy’s Perfect Beardz, Smoke Pit Cigars & Hoopers Hollows Woodworking.

That’s not all; Hi-Wire is also putting on a dad joke competition at 2 p.m., a dad costume contest at 3 p.m. and a stein hoisting contest at 5 p.m. You can also enter a raffle (supporting Pints for Prostates) to win a Beer Lover’s Bucket List trip to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival!

Dad to the Bone: a dad-cathalon! // Kern’s Food Hall // June 16 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Check out Kern’s Food Hall for a selection of food, shops bars and more! Kern’s will also be hosting keg curls, a three-legged race and a joke-off for Father’s Day.
