KU alum Bryce Hoppel chats with 13 Sports ahead of Paris Olympics

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Former KU Track & Field star Bryce Hoppel is headed to his second Olympics at the age of 26.

The Texas native is a 6x National Champion and the World Indoor Champion in the Men’s 800 meter. He set a U.S. Olympic Trials record time of 1:42.77 to punch his ticket to the Paris Olympics.

This will be his second Olympic appearance. He went to Tokyo in 2021, where he made it to the semifinals.

13 Sports’ Katie Maher caught up with the former Jayhawk before he made the big trip out to France.
