A Los Angeles-based music company that has worked on projects involving Google, McDonald’s, Grey’s Anatomy and Big Bang Theory will establish a Music Row office.
Position Music will operate from a building, originally housing Decca Records, located at 27 Music Square E.
A trust that includes husband-and-wife Tyler Bacon and Leslie Bacon owns the 0.17-acre property, having paid $2,295,000 for it in January (read here).
Founded in 1999 and led by Tyler Bacon, Position Music focuses on licensing and synchronization, marketing, A&R and artist management, according to its website. The company is home to about 40 employees.
The Position Music website notes the company’s advertising placements include Jeep, Google, McDonald’s and Samsung. It has trailer placements for “hundreds of major film campaigns,” including those for Wonder Woman, The Hobbit, Transformers and King Arthur. Position’s resumé related to television shows offers Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland, Billions, Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, America’s Got Talent, American Idol and Nashville, among others. The company’s video game work has featured EA, ESL and Microsoft.
A permit is being sought to allow for the updates to the building.
Relatedly, Position is seeking to hire a vice president of administration who will serve as a senior leader for the company’s Burbank and Nashville offices.
The seller in the January transaction was Nashville real estate developer and investor David Creed, who paid $1.85 million for the property in October 2021. The seller in that transaction was an LLC that included brothers Del Bryant, former president of BMI, and Dane Bryant, ex-music director for the late Olivia Newton-John.
The Bacons could not be reached for comment regarding an opening date and the number of employees expected to work in the Nashville office.
