Forecast
Lake Effect Snow Warning until 7 pm Monday:

  • Wyoming County
  • Chautauqua County
  • Cattaraugus County
  • Southern Erie County

Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations are 2 to 3 feet in the most persistent lake snows.

Lake Effect Snow Warning until 7 pm Sunday:

  • Northern Erie County
  • Genesee

Heavy lake-effect snow is expected. Total snow accumulations are 10 to 20 inches in the most persistent lake snows. The greatest snow amounts in the Buffalo Metro area are expected across the nearby southern suburbs and possibly South Buffalo. Little or no snow is expected across the northern suburbs.

Around 6:48 p.m. Saturday, Buffalo Police warned that driving conditions in South Buffalo were becoming hazardous and drivers should take caution. Just after 8 p.m. the city issued a travel advisory for South Buffalo from Bailey Ave to the city line near Lackawanna.

Roads

The I-90 West has reopened to passenger traffic from Exit 57 (Route 75/Hamburg) to the Pennsylvania State Line (Exit 61/Ripley).

Commercial Vehicle Ban

  • ALL COMMERCIAL VEHICLES are banned from the Thruway (I-90) in both directions from exit 46 (Rochester – Corning – I-390) to the PA state line until further notice.

Travel Bans & Advisories

Bans:

As of 7 p.m. Saturday the travel ban in village of Fredonia has been suspended.

Advisories:

  • City of Buffalo: South Buffalo from Bailey Ave to the city line near Lackawanna.
  • Southern Erie County, including: Lackawanna, West Seneca, Elma, Marilla, Hamburg, Orchard Park, Aurora, Wales, Eden, Boston, Colden, Holland, North Collins, Collins, and Concord.

    Erie County travel bans and advisories as of 5 p.m. Nov 30.
  • All of Cattaraugus County is under a travel advisory until further notice, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff.

Caution advised:
Chautauqua County has not issued an official advisory or ban, however, they are asking motorists to proceed with caution if they have to travel, and avoid travel if possible.

Major closings:

Hilbert College reports that on Monday, December 2nd, they plan to be closed except for “Remote Learning in Progress”
