Lake Saint Louis residents look forward to new park, entertainment complex at The Meadows

LAKE SAINT LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – For the last year, Faith Williams has been settling into life in Lake Saint Louis.

“I think it’s a great community, I love living here the neighborhoods are really nice, the people are really nice,” she said. “I like it a lot.”

She can already tell her 16-month-old daughter is looking for more adventures in the area beyond their routine stop at Boulevard Park.

“She just started learning to explore because she just started walking,” she said. “She’s very independent.”

Williams said the need for more is one of the reasons she is looking forward to a new city park and entertainment complex coming to The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis. The park will be managed by the City of Lake Saint Louis and the complex overseen by Cohen Equities.

Early renderings for the facility include a two-story hospitality and sports entertainment complex, with features including an ice skating rink, pickleball court along with space for concerts and live events. The plans also include along with an indoor/outdoor multipurpose event lawn.

In a news release, Meir Cohen, CEO of Cohen Equities said, “We look forward to continuing to reinvigorate The Meadows as the bustling downtown of Lake Saint Louis, with options and activities that the whole family can enjoy.”

Neighbors said the space is needed.

“We have nothing like that here really and the Meadows really seems to be floundering at this point,” Owen Murtagh said. “Hopefully it’ll bring more people and livelihood, people to come and shop and it’ll grow.”

Williams said she looks forward to what will be around as her daughter grows up.

“When she gets older and she has more interaction with children, I definitely think it’s gonna help her learn and grow faster,” she said. “Just bringing the community together, it’s going to be great.”

A groundbreaking is set to take place at the site of the complex, located at the greenspace near BC’s Kitchen and Mueller’s Furniture at 5:00 pm Thursday.
