ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV) -In 1989, a bar opened on the shores of East Lake Okoboji. And now, “The Ritz” is celebrating 35 years of success. In the summer, you can find boats docked, and a patio full of visitors enjoying the lake and live music. Or, on a rainy day, you may find folks seeking refuge form the rain on their covered deck. Throughout the summer, “The Ritz” tries to offer events and specials for locals to enjoy.

“The original name is the Ritz Bar and Cook Shack, because it was like deli sandwiches pizzas, there was no grill area, there was none of that,” explained Taylor Genrich, owner of the Ritz. “So then, we still obviously do bands but then we started moving into more food.”

“The Ritz” has made several changes over the past three decades to evolve along with its loyal customer base, but they say the key to long term success at the business is simple.

“You know, we do our music a little earlier, but like I said, our food is consistently good, and fresh, and we have a great staff. I mean, I have been very fortunate to have a great staff, and I have great locals,” said Genrich.

“The Ritz” is open daily, year-round. You can find their menu and hours by clicking here.
