Las Vegas Is Now One Of The Most Expensive Places To Travel To

Sin City has always been an attractive travel destination, but now Las Vegas is one of the most expensive places to travel to. Listen, inflation is affecting everything these days, including travel to our city. According to a new study by Forbes Advisor, Las Vegas is now one of the most expensive places to visit in the U.S. and it’s because the city has had some of the steepest rise in costs over the last 5 years.

A New Study Shows Why Las Vegas Has Gotten So Expensive

Forbes Advisor’s study showed some significant price increases in a few key areas, including the following:

Car rentals – Renting a car has seen one of the highest price hikes in their study, up 61% in the last five years. The average daily rates for renting a car in Las Vegas is now 77 dollars, which adds up quickly if you’re in town for multiple days. Plus, if you’re staying on the strip, you can also count on paying daily parking fees on top of an already expensive rental. Speaking of staying on the strip…

Hotel Stay – Not as drastic as the car rentals, but hotel room prices have also gone up over the last 5 years. The average cost, per night, of a hotel room in Las Vegas is $252. That’s up 47%.

Food and Drink – Whether you’re eating out each night, or making a quick run to the grocery store, food prices are up! Forbes Advisor says 3 meals a day has increased by 14%, totaling around $98 per day.

Las Vegas Isn’t the Only City Seeing a Price Surge but There Is a Silver Lining

Las Vegas is seeing the highest overall increases, however Forbes Advisor did mention that the average flight to Las Vegas is down slightly by 5.5%.  Tourism costs have affected other cities too, including Tucson, Arizona; New Orleans, Louisiana; and San Antonio, Texas.
