Las Vegas plans expanded ‘immersive’ entertainment district near Area15
In September 2020, Area15 opened to enthusiastic crowds tired of pandemic quarantine. Four years and 13 million guests later, its growth has led to a full-blown entertainment district.
The experiential attraction and entertainment complex has worked with the City of Las Vegas to establish the Vegas Immersive District.
It will allow Area15 to triple its campus, adding not just entertainment, but also — eventually — lodging and residential housing, as well as office and retail space.
Oh, and there’s also expected to be a first-of-its-kind horror destination by Universal Studios anchoring the expansion.
Developers project the district will generate visitation, revenue, and jobs.
By the numbers, this is what the city expects:
- 35.5 acres near Area15
- 100,000 square feet of Horror Themed Immersive Entertainment
- 418,000 square feet of retail space
- 320,000 square feet of office space
- 200 hotel rooms
- 585 multi-family housing units
- 3.5 million annual visitors
- $796 million in annual on-site spending
- 4,086 jobs.
- $15.8 million annually in eligible sales tax revenues
