Last-minute Thanksgiving food deals 2024: Target, Publix and more

Thanksgiving is when most people celebrate with a huge feast with family and friends.

But Thanksgiving dinner can be costly, with holiday staples like turkey, stuffing, cranberries and pie alone often tacking a hefty bill at the grocery store.

Some retailers are offering special savings on the day before Thanksgiving, so shoppers should race to take advantage of the remaining deals before cooking up their Thanksgiving meal on Thursday.

Are Target, Publix and Food Lion stores open on Thanksgiving?

Many stores close their doors on Thanksgiving in order to give their employees time off to enjoy the day with their families.

Target will be closed this year, so if you need to make a last-minute turkey run, you should opt for a different store Thursday.

Publix is also giving employees the day off, so shoppers who rely on the Southeastern supermarket should shop early.

Food Lion will still be open for your Thanksgiving Day shopping needs, but closing times could vary by the location.

You should check with your specific store to make sure it’s open for the hours you need.

Other stores that plan to be open on Thanksgiving Day include Kroger, Sprouts Farmer Market, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, HEB and Wegmans.
