Legal battle forcing downtown St. Louis business to move
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A legal battle is forcing a downtown St. Louis business to find a new location.
In 2022, the London Tea Room moved from its store next to Tower Grove Park to a larger space on Locust Street. Now, a judge said they will have to find another spot.
The dispute stems from a legal battle over the lease of the new location. Court documents show the judge ruled against the owners of the team room and in favor of the building’s owners, who were seeking repossession of the building as well as recovery of unpaid rent.
According to court documents, the London Tea Room must pay $83,000 and leave the Locust location 30 days after the ruling is finalized.
